Baking is a unique joy.
The careful construction of ingredients, with substitutions here and there for my half-adled brain. The calmness in rolling out sticky dough and shaping into little round circles. The sweet aroma of cinnamon and ginger wafting through the house.
And then comes reality…a pile of washing up in the sink. Sometimes I really hate baking!
